Barcelona beaches

Barcelona Beaches from above

Barcelona has been nominated as the best beach city in the world. 4,5 kilometres of seafront are divided in seven beaches, each with its own charm and facilities. Lined with chiringuitos that offer snacks and drinks during the day and fiesta as the sun goes down, beach volley and other beach sports, there’s something for every taste.

The summer beach season in Barcelona is usually from mid-April until the end of September. Some years, the season goes from late March to November.

The beaches from the city centre towards the Forum square are: Sant Sebastia, Barceloneta beach, Bogatell, Nova Icaria, Mar Bella beach (nudist part), Nova Mar Bella, Llevant.

There are many beautiful beaches in coastal towns surrounding Barcelona worth exploring, many accessible by train: Sitges, Castelldefels, St Pol de Mar

Tip: the farther you go from the city centre and port, the less crowded the beaches are.
